There exists a small lab in the computer science department which some rather obstreperous gentlemen are partial to frequenting in order to play Starcraft. On occasion they are, shall we say, less than considerate of their fellow students endeavouring to study there, in occupying computers and desks that others wish to use, failing to always use headphones, and engaging in regular discussion of said Starcraft sessions at excessive vocal volumes.

Subsquent to their disregard to all requests to reduce the magnitude of this daily cacophony, one morning another student pinned that to the door as a jestful means of expressing dissatisfaction with the situation. The aforementioned gentlemen evidently took exception to this affront to his right to use a hardware lab for such leisure purposes and posted it to reddit.

To be fair, it's very important to have a solid build order down for the exams.

I was going to write a long retort but what's the point. Storm in a teacup. Yalu's post is pretty much accurate, but it is fairly biased. Obstreperous is a bit of stretch. I never took affront to the note that was posted, on the contrary I found it hilarious!

If people can play starcraft on those computers, does that mean that people can/do have LAN events?

I guess it is possible but it really, really wouldn't be a good idea. Theres no way the college would allow it.

As you may have guessed, I know nothing about starcraft; I had assumed that some sort of LAN gaming was going on.

I hereby resurrect this thread to ask how you guys managed to get starcraft to work on the college computers. I'm down in the hamilton basement rooms and I can't get the client to work off of a usb drive. It's something wrong with the internet or the firewall settings jeez I dunno, giz a hand

As hypocritical as it may be, there's no way I am encouraging this behaviour on a larger scale. Sorry. Figure it out yourself

There is a way, a certain society will tell you how.

They have hats, parrots and ships. And scurvy.
