MCQ question

    if you get 79% in an mcq exam, do you get 70% of the marks, 80% or 79%

    Sorry if its a dumb question!!

    You get 79%.

    MCQ is normally part of continuous assessment and is added to your overall final grade. Individual elements of overall assessment for a module (projects, essays, inclass tests etc) are not rounded up, but when they are all put together (with the final/summer exam) and if you are close (within 1/2 %) to a grade then they are normally rounded up for example:

    Inclass MCQ Exam (worth 20%) say you get 79% - That's 15.8% of overall

    Final Exam (worth 80%) say you get 67% - That's 53.6% of overall

    So for the module overall you got 69.4% - Then you'd be rounded up to 70%
