Someone in college said they were paid over the summer last year the same as BTEA normally is - into the bank.

But I rang up and they said that we would have to sign on to the job seekers for the summer.

My problem is I've received an internship which will be half in Dublin and half in Kerry, so I won't actually be available for work, or in the one place all summer.

They make it so difficult! Wouldn't it be better for my long term not-being-on-the -dole prospects to intern in the field I'm studying over summer than work in some grotty retail shop which I've been doing for years to no avail!?
