Hi, I am currently trying to get a major award in applied social studies fetac level 5, I am completing this by doing a module a term at night. Regarding the work experience module, can anyone help me as how i can complete this and what type of work experience I need, I have tried to find out information but fetac have not replied to my emails :(. I currently work in retail so have no experience and dont know how to go about getting a placement. Please help :D thank you :)

How are you doing the other modules? That would be a better place to enquire, see if they will offer you the module. You need to work somewhere related to social studies, but there are specific areas to study, submit etc so you will need to find a provider who will handle it for you.

Go to your local VEC, college of further education, or FAS and see if they can help you.

Lorna im just finishing social studies this year. for work exp we had to get placement in a social care setting, i did mine with Foroige the youth organisation. other people in my class did it in creches, nursing homes and places like that. off the top of my head i think we needed 60 hours.
if you go on the fetac site it has the brief and the supervisor report sheets that you need to complete.
