    What polish do people use?

    i used to be a fan of AG super resin but it doesn't seem to last very long beading wise.

    i might try a coat of it and one or two lights coats of a wax on top?

    SRP isn't considered protection. It's used to remove oxidation, light swirls and help fill remaining swirls.

    Wax will give you longer lasting beading ;)

    If you used AG EGP after the SRP then the car would look VGC ;). The HD wax can be applied by hand and works really well. It's a little pricey though but lasts a long time.

    Yeah I usually do a layer of SRP and then a layer of Wax on top of it.

    Only got the SRP on the car last Sunday before is started to rain, so it's only got that on it for the week. Annoying as I'll probably have to do it again next weekend before I can wax it, that is if this rain ever stops...

    again super resin polish is not protection. its main functions are to remove light contamination, fill in light swirll marks and to bring back a shine to the paintwork. Its not meant to offer long lasting protection. thats what wax or sealant is for!

    If you really want to bring up the paint on the jag, give it 3 goes with SRP and 2 layers of decent wax

    As already said, SRP contains fillers which come loose when it's washed, wax seals the whole thing for a while

    Would ye polish a metallic painted car or could I do damage? What kind of wax would ye use on the Autoglym polish if so? Any better than others? TIA

    Yes you can polish metallic paint.

    If you are going for the Autoglym Super Resin Polish approach, something in their range to protect the paint work would be the best.

    If you are specifically looking for wax, then Autoglym's HD Wax is extremely good, if a bit pricey for some.

    Or the other option for protection is a sealant, and in that case Extra Gloss Protection is a good choice.

    You could also use Collinite 845 over the SRP.
    That would seal it up for you and last a while.

    I used be a champion of Meguiars wax but I recently found Blacklight and I love it. The main thing I like about it us that it doesn't attract dust onto a car like wax does. Don't get me wrong, Meguiars products are excellent but all waxes attract dust for some reason.

    Blacklight falls into the category of hybrid glaze/sealant. I got mine from www.detailingshed.com and I will be getting more :)

    There is no polish on the market that offers protection. A polish applied by hand is for gloss enhancement and one applied with a D/A is for correction. Whenever a polish is applied, it must be sealed with either a wax or a sealant.

    Don't rush into buying more until you check it for durability.
    I for one was not overly impressed.

    Wolf's Body Wrap for me,
    Shine = 100%
    Durability = 150% :pac:

    That's what i'm after.

    i have Jetseal there, must give it a few coats.

    Wouldnt relie on Blacklight for Durabilty as Vectra has pointed out.

    Blacklight teamed with Pete's 53 is supposed to be a very good combo!

    Jetseal is a very durable sealant, you cant go wrong there! :)
    But Wolf's Body Wrap is almost bullet proof....isnt that right Vectra :D To fully remove it, it needs to be polished off. The others above would come off with a good APC and a clay.

    Jetseal I have never tried but according to reports it is excellent.

    A good prep and 2 coats of Wolfs BW and you are set for months.:cool:
