hey, I want to do a tour of Ireland in July. I think a cycle computer to help me keep track of the kms would be useful. nothing fancy. I think Ireland's small enough that I can rely on maps and not GPS ;)

so if anybody was thinking of upgrading anytime soon, I'll take yer old one I guess?

just a thought. let me know.

There are cheaper computers available but this is the only one I have used.

That's a lot of maps you're talking about if it's the discovery series you're looking at. IMO, if you're trying to get to a small town or village, you'll get directions easy enough, a remote private house is much harder. If you're using maps bring a compass too and know how to use them, I've been lost in the middle of nowhere a few times losing daylight with the rain settling in and navigation can be more challenging than you might think. You could also hire a GPS as an option.

I'll definitely have a compass with me, but that sounds like an intriguing option, I'll have to look into that
