Goodie Bags

This is an important question, but which sportive does the best goodie bags?

There's nothing worse than getting to registration, signing in, getting your little plastic bag to find it's full of crap (I'm looking at you Etape Hibernia)

It's always nice to get a little surprise (woohoo Hula Hoops, Tour de Kilkenny)

......and something a bit practical (cereal bars, Tour of Meath!)

.....and a useful memento (mug, Tour de Kilkenny - no one in the house is allowed drink from it until they've done that route!)

From the events I did last year, I put the Tour de Kilkenny's goodie bag in the top spot!

The Leinster Loop with Stephen Roche had among other things, 2 spare tubes, a cheap chinese alan key tool, a toothbrush, some blister pads, and alot more other random shít besides. If you like being surprised you can certainly do no worse than the random selection of stuff in this goodie bag!

I like the cycle jersey from the Sean Kelly tour of waterford. I end up throwing out the t-shirts you get from other sportifs but the Waterford is a decent cycle top.

I did the An Post Meath and Waterford events and both had decent jerseys.

Curlieu Wheelers in Boyle gave a beanie on an event they ran last year. Great idea as it definitely gets more use than any t shirt I've gotten. Think it was only €10 entry.

I see the An Post Tour of Sligo is giving a jersey this year. Last year they gave a technical T Shirt. The jersey was available to buy locally for €20.

Does anyone know if it's the same jersey design this year? Last years was green white & gold.

The An Post Tour de Burren had a cycling buff (like this) and a water bottle - definitely one of the better goodie bags I've received!

I still have that. It is useful and well made. Would have been happy for pay a few quid extra for a hot cup of tea and a sandwich at the mid way stop or at the end though.

The Tour de Kilkenny mug was great to get. It takes pride of place on my desk at work so everyone can see it :)
The rain jacket I got for doing the Tour de Conamara last year was pretty cool too. Although a major hiccup with the supplier meant that they arrived 3 months late!

I attended both An Post Meath and Waterford and both jerseys were nice and sober.:)

I think they're a bit of a waste. I usually end up binning mine.

The one for the Wicklow200 was really poor. It just contained a written request for a further €20 cheque to be sent to the organisers by the end of the week.. :D

Nice wind jacket from tour de conamara this year. Decent enough jersey from an post tour of Sligo. Would prefer to see a lower entry fee instead. Rubbish rucksack last Saturday in tour de burden, and an ice cream at the finish !!!!!!!
