Aer Lingus block booking??

    Not sure if this forum is too sophisticated for my query but....
    Any idea why all flights around December/ January 2013 to Orlando have same seats blocked? ....about half the plane on all dates I have checked.
    Are they likely to be released at a closer date?

    Maybe they are held for travel agents? My parents flew a month ago to Lanzarote on an Aer Lingus scheduled service and we booked it online with Sunway and when I compared the cost online to Aerlingus.com it seemed for what they paid the apartment was only a tiny fraction of the cost so the tour operators are probably bulk booking seats from Aer Lingus at lower costs.

    Not sure if its the same thing but QANTAS do similar.

    They block out seats near the front of the cabin in economy.
    If you are a frequent flyer with a high status you can see them free but others cant.

    Also it could be something to do with a codeshare on the route?
