    Morning All,
I've an Android tablet (v4.+ as of last night) I also have a number of terabyte disks hanging off a windows xp machine.

I have a Wifi network running for my smart devices. I've the XP machine cabled direct into the router.

Just wondering has anyone any suggestions how I can get access to my windows disks from my tablet over the network?

    Help and suggestions much appreciated.

Easiest way would be to ensure that the Disk/Folder/Partition is shared on the XP pc and use ES File Explorer or another good file manager to browse for shares on the lan.

In ES, you select LAN, menu and then scan or new server if you know the IP address and enter/edit the credentials necessary.

There are also LAN aware media playing apps that will do the same if you're looking to only stream movies/music.

Thanks MC_G, a great recommendation. It works a dream. I had to flute around a little with disk sharing on my XP machine but it was easy to get it working.
