Passed the inspection anyway. The La Touche, the hurdle races and the bumper. First race is at 4.50.

    6:05 Punch

Sweet Shock has a decent record on heavy ground, but more importantly this trainer has in the past got a few ready at a time and his other runner yesterday was backed and running well when he fell. He has won a very decent race on heavy at Naas last year of around this mark, and apart from his last run over fences his form this year has been decent enough. He’s worth a small bet at 25/1 EW as my gut feeling is he’ll be backed today and hopefully his proven heavy ground form will come into play.

    ½ pt EW 25/1 Coral

Will Paddy Power refund money if races are cancelled?

Sweet shock has had 3 runs on heavy and never placed. 3 runs in Punchestown and won one.

Cairdin for me in that one, 8/1 looks huge.

    Heavy - 3 runs, 1 win 2 places
    Punchestown - 2 runs, 1 win 1 place.

Going to go with catleen and it's the Ice I like in this one. Won and placed in a PTP over the trip and big things expected in his last race. Hoping something went a miss. I see Walsh has opted for the other McManus horse in the race though but I'm not going to let it sway me

Best runs are on soft heavy also

Get me out of here is a non runner.

Bet365 have odds for the forcast.
I did'nt know any bookie gave odds for it I was trying to do a normal f/c
    and the odds came up.

    1st Quevega
    2nd Mourad

    is 9.39/1

That looks a good bet to me have stuck a few quid on and gone fairly big on Quevega at 11/10

I still think anything can happen because of the ground!!!!

Berties Dream and Buckers Bridge are my only 2 bets today.

    La Touche Cup

Disappointed that Saddlers Storm is into single figures but probably deserves to be. Double Dizzy has always caught my eye and I backed him in the Irish National two years ago. Having never fallen before - he fell that day. Arabella Boy is another one that I always keep a close eye on. Trained by the CC master he would have to be taken seriously. He doesn't stay very far though and this ground along with the distance could find him out again.

The market looks to have it right. Any fancies?

I'm on the Tracey Shuffle in the 4:50 (3:40), goes on the ground and could turn out to be a class above the rest from what I've read.

Outlaw Pete in La Touche cup, 4th last year on good ground which he didn't like so should be more suited by today's conditions.

Catleen in the 3m handicap, trip is more suitable than last run at fairlyhouse and has won on heavy ground in the past.

I haven't decided what to do in the world hurdle, a decent bet on Quevega is tempting.

Nothing done in the bumper yet, will see how the other races go first

Edit: I backed Buckers Bridge in the bumper, he is being tipped in a lot of places and don't think he will still be 5/1 later in the day.

I'd be surprised if Saddlers Storm won. His form over upwards of 3m2f is FPP.
Like the poster above, I think Outlaw Pete is good each way value. 4th last year on unsuitably firm ground. No real question marks.

I think im alone here but i really fancy MIKAEL D'HAGUENET today. Record at Punchestown is 3 wins from 4 runs. Also the key thing is he handles the ground. He is 6 wins from 6 over hurdles when heavy has been described in the going. Ive taken 16's with Boyles and had a serious punt on the 7/2 in PP w/o Quevega and VLD market.

Great effort from Uncle Junior there. Epic finish to the race. Drama throughout and a great call from Gerry Hannon (sp?) as usual.

Sickend, Outlaw Pete was cruising, would have definitely got a place i reckon if not won and managed to fall at the last meaningful obstacle!

Stuck a fiver on Mikael at 17/1. My Punchestown offerings for today.

V impressive Quevega...would she have beaten Big Bucks????..serious turn of foot on poor ground.
Backed the 2nd horse....but she was beaten despite running great race.

Typical Ruby, caught sleeping, bad start on Catleen, then wastes the punters cash by pulling up

lets see what excuse his daddy lets him trot for that pathetic display

care to address the substantive issue or as is clear you just prefer to throw stones with the 'ruby is a God' mob?

I expect better from a mod, thanking someone who calls another person an 'idiot' is rather poor form.

    stick to taxes revenue boy!

I was watching the price on exchange and after the horse first failed to go, the price flew out.

What can I say, Richie's comment summed up my opinion of the comment you made.

Revenue boy? Are you suggesting that I work for the Revenue? If so you'd be very wrong.

In relation to the substantive issue, as you call it, the horses were called in three times - on all three occasions Catleen didn't want to start. Are you honestly telling me that you are of the opinion that Ruby was at fault and isn't capable of getting a horse to run? Just in case you weren't watching he won the previous race. It was the horse. Build a bridge.

    BTW I backed Catleen.
