Alright, I need new wheels.

I've given up trying to find one matching alloy and to be fair, the ones I have are pretty scraped up. I needwant new wheels, I don't want to spend more than €300-€350 but I'll spend €400 if I need to, keep my mind my car is only worth about half of that.

There are a few ideas floating around my head (I like rotas but they all seem to be a bit knackered or on the other side of the country) but I'm very picky and I'm finding it hard to get what I want on the second hand market (obviously this is where it's staying at my price range) so with that in mind, I would appreciate it if I could get a bit of help in my search.

Fitment is 4x100, 15-16", throw anything decent at me and lets see where this goes. :)

I know I've posted a lot of pictures lately, but in case anyone hasn't seen it yet, this is the car in question.

    Is your budget including rubber?

Errrr, I've been looking at rims and rubber together but there doesn't really seem to be a lot advertised with out tyres.

If I can get a nice set for €300 I can buy part worns but other than that it'd be the package.

I need two new tyres even if I don't get new wheels, would it be risk putting the two fresher ones on new rims? There're about 55%-60% there.

Something like these maybe? Think it would look well with some clean multispokes..

Doesn't specify 4x100 but very good chance they are. Might be worth a ring.

Just to note though it can be tricky to get good second hand alloys. I was stung before when a set I bought off dd that turned out to be totally warped even though they looked fine by eye. Best to see the wheels spinning either mounted to a tyre machine or an a car jacked up or drive a car with them on to check for damage.

Hadn't put any thought into fox, how are they over time if you know?
Only other thing is the trip down to them. Car's not on the road yet, so I'd have to convince some one to drive me down. Haha

Yeah good point about them being warped. I was considering going into a few alloy shops to try and avoid just that if they had anything second hand.

I've bought a few sets and always put them on my car before buying and drive around up to 120 with them on

The ones I stuck on mine were 15" momo winter alloys, the thing was practically indestructible, no hope you'd ever warp one :D

Hmmm... If they weren't in Galway it'd be handier but they do look nice.

    They do look pretty sweet.

I keep finding myself looking at deep dish stuff, which I know is really just teasing myself.
What do we think of these? All show or are they decent?

I'm pretty new to this whole rim thing. :o

I'd say they'd look pants tbh. IIRC I have seen ones with dished wheels before, looked good but you need decent wheels (like bbs reps, which im not sure they come in 4 stud)

    I'mnot saying you'll like them but they are cheap;

White and Bright (Centre caps can be sprayed)

Another cheap set that you can do a job on yourself!

I'd be tempted by the BBS on that Golf alright. You're right though, the centre caps wouldn't stay that way for too long.
€550 is really pushing me though, keeping in mind I'll be paying for an alignment too. I'll have to sit on that one.

    Edit: Polo? Golf?
    I'm not sure. :/

The four stud is seeming a bit limiting alright.

    Anyone have experience with 5Zigen?

I'm also interested in these but I'm iffy on the price as I've seen them much cheaper and it does't look like he'd want to budge.

What kind of money am I looking at for good part worns?
Neither of these come with rubber.

They look decent, maybe barter on price as there is no tyres?

Richie at Pro Parts has good deals on part worns.

I got 2 part worn grade a's 18" for 120 I think it was a few weeks ago from tyreland. Always see the tyre before it goes on :)

Yeah I was thinking that, I'm sure there's a bit of room in there.

Any recommendations for tyre places around Tallaght?

If not I can check out the other two spots. It's just that until I get this on the road I'm relying on my parents.

    Ah no worries.
I think I'll go for a walk around the different shops in the next few days and see what's on offer.
Pretty much decided on the 5Zigens. :)
