PayPal dispute

    Short and sweet..

I had some large value items for sale, buyer contacts me offering to purchase immediately sending payment via PayPal and due to the fees ect I went with it.

Fast forward to today, buyer receives items and try's to say one has a damaged button and wants 100 refund or return everything for a full refund.

Now, I'm 100% that there was no damage to the item and it was perfect and due to the nature of the supposed damage it could not have been caused in transit. I checked it over before posting and know for a fact it was perfect and the problem wouldn't just arise suddenly either. I feel the buyer is basically trying to do me out of a few extra euro for themselfs.

Either ways they opened a PayPal dispute and I escalated it to a claim giving as much information as possible. I didn't agree to a partial refund nor a return as they buyer said they had some of the items already and I think it may be possible that they send a different unit to mine back.

Basically I'm wondering what are my chances now with PayPal? I had removed the money to my bank account although there's still some money in PayPal that's on hold. Can they automatically charge my credit card for the balance? What if they say the buyer has to return them and he sends a broken one?

Unknownst to the buyer the items have Uv codes that I put on them which would verify if they sent back a different item although will PayPal just refund once the item is returned and signed for?

Post a message in the dispute centre as follows (or something to this effect)

'I am sorry you are not happy with your item, so please return to me at the above address. Once I have verified the UV code that I put on all items I send in the post for security measures then I will of course refund you.'

This may put the buyer off IF he is trying to pull a fast one.
However, if he is genuine he must send you the item back first, and then PROVE that you received it - which can only be done via registered post.

I've escalated it so can't add any more info as its being reviewed but the buyer is hounding me with messages on eBay.

My concern is once received and signed for will PayPal just refund him regardless of what I get back, also if I refuse to accept a return package and it's returned to him how would that play out?

If you refuse it, it will be recorded as refused and this would go against you.

Buyer cancelled dispute when asked for third party verification from ebay = result!

What do you mean by 'third party verification from ebay'?
