Both are i5s, both have turbo up to 3Ghz. Different chips but you'll never notice the difference.

That 2GB in the graphics card is bull****, their isin't enough processing power to fully utilise it, plus even if it had you need to go over 1080p on some new game to make use of it, or do something with 3D or use multiple monitors. It's just their to fool people.

So both CPUs are the same, GPUs are pretty much the same, that leaves RAM-->unless your gonna be using something like CAD you won't notice the extra, Sony has extra battery (great) + Full HD screen-->but on a 15 incher is nearly a put off in my exp. You either won't notice it or stuff will be smaller and you'll have to fiddle with zoom and custom text sizes.

Intels new CPUs will be along in a few weeks at near same prices as versions available now. Better all round, integrated graphics will be better than the discrete cards in both of the above.

    Can't find 610M on site

If you had to buy now (really really had to) then something like this.

cheers for that.the start of the month is the latest i can wait. the case is literately falling apart and the power supply is on its way, so much so it can move around on its own. although have seen reports that the new cpus will be released on the 29th of this month. but i doubt many laptops will have them at the beginning and will take at least a month to come more main stream.

have you bought from that crowd before? saveonlaptops? dosnt say anything about shipping to here.

has anybody any good things to say about the dell xps 15 business class? would be tempting with the 10% off coupon

    The difference?

Now that you know the facts, you can choose between 2 GB extra RAM or a spare battery... Oh, and of course 100 yoyos more or less in your pocket. :D

Yea, no worries with them, they've been used on here for years. They were considerable cheaper than Amazon for along time but the gap is alot closer lately.

    £10 for delivery to Ireland.
£9.95 - Non UK Mainland & North Scotland - 2-4 Days (North Scotland, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Isle of Man etc.)

XPS is grand, their entry level screen (1366x768 or whatever it is) isin't great though, you'd need to up that if you're going for one of them.

I really need to set up that Tiny Uploadertongue.gif (lazyredface.gif)

What is there to set up? You can use the portable version, unzip and run. Only advantage of the installer is the context menu extension (i.e. right click on any image on your comp and send it directly, image link will be in your clipboard).
Do I need to set up an imgur account to use Tiny?

No, you don't, Tiny Uploader will upload images from your computer (incl. drag & drop), from the clipboard (i.e. a copied image from a website) or indeed snippets directly to imgur.com or imageshack.us (your choice) without having a registered account with either image hosting service.

I have the SA version of that Sony and it's well worth the money. The build quality is awesome and the screen was much better than the other laptops I compared it to at the time (6 months ago). Haven't read the other posts here so I don't know how they compare spec wise but spec is always only part of the story and I was willing to pay a bit more for the better screen, better keyboard, better connectivity and (most of all) the switchable graphics! But the machine looks the business too!

I also got the sheet battery which is awesome. Can't believe other manufacturers don't use this approach to extended batteries.
