Heating not working

    hello there
    I am having problems with the heating System in the house.
    It is Gas central heating and i live here for 6 years now.
    The heating works when it wants to for some reason.
    The gas boiler is in the airing cupboard and the valves are there too.
    The last two days the heating has worked upstairs but not downstairs.
    I had the boiler serviced in January and the man said the heating was fine then.
    Please if someone has any idea what is wrong or where to go to get it fixed as I am freezing here.
