As a bit of a novice I have managed to pull off quite a few DIY miracles in the past. The bathroom is split in two, Toilet/Bath. How would I know if the dividing wall is a supporting wall as I want to knock it ? Go into the attic ? Help plse !

Is it supporting a wall directly above it? Then it's a loadbearing wall.

Mind you, I don't know why people want to have their toilet in their bathroom. I'd much rather have my toothbrush in a different room to the germs and smells.... :(

Also if there is a join in joists above it it's load bearing. If in doubt get a structural engineer in to look at it. Not worth the risk in my mind.

A Structural engineer or a competant builder will tell you.
If its supporting/load bearing, then you will need an RSJ or concrete supporting lintel installed to take the weight.

Do not go near the wall yourself,as you do not know what you are doing.
