Hi hoping someone can help me.
We are a cohabiting couple, one child and another due next thursday :)
I'm am in receipt on mat benefit of €262 (not topped up by employer) started this week. My oh will be getting €196.90 JA starting next week. He just got means tested recently and was entitled to €58 based on my wages but as i am now on mat leave he is getting full rate. I get €38 FIS too. When baby arrives will I get more FIS?

Leave it a week or two after the child is born,as it will take this time for the child to be registered and assigned a PPS number, then ring FIS and let them know. They will update your claim and pay for 2 kids, you will be paid for 2 kids from the first Thursday after the child's DOB.

Thank you. Will the payment be based on my wages or will they reassess again. Our renewal isn't till September.

Also I will still be on mat leave when our renewal is due, how do they calculate then?

They don't reassess the claim ,will take the same figures as now.

If you are on MAT its averaged out using your wage before MAT and your MAT benefit.
