Spa Hen Destinations

I've tried posting this on weddingsonline but got little feedback.

I am looking for suggestion for hotels, spas and places for a rather particular hen.

I'm really not big into the clubbing scene, not even for my hen... I would love to do something relaxing, like a spa break. I'd like it to be something sociable, like reserving an area for the party where we can sit in some mud or just lounge in a jacuzzi with some girlie mini-treatments we can all take part in, like manicures...
Two nights, a dinner, some time in a spa room with the girls and top it off with cocktails one or both nights. Budget wise, I'd say I'm looking at only one night for many of the participants...

The location should be reasonable driving distance from mainly Galway, but also Cork and Dublin, i.e. looks like too far north from Galway will be too far for my Cork friends :(

Has anyone ever looked into doing something like this before? Could someone suggest a venue?

    Thanks for the suggestion.
I checked their site and I think it's working out 220 for 2 nights... wonder if they could do a deal for under 200? Still, it's a bit far from Cork... :(

    What about Westport?

Its pretty, but lots to see or do outside of the typical hen scene.
Knockranny Spa have an offer on that I can heartily recommend, as I had it recently and it was divine!!

http://www.khh.ie/uploads/documents/spa%20salveo%20spring%20specials%202012.pdf - I dunno if that link can be read but its a spa package for €99 that normally costs €245. I've pasted the text of the deal below.
    Spa Salveo Glow
    2.5 hours - €99 (normal Price €245)
    Invigorating Body Polish
Aromatherapy Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage,
Kerstin Florian Specific facial with a brightening eye treatment ,
Choice of either a Deluxe Foot Treatment or an Aroma Hand Treatment
    Conclude this luxurious experience with
complimentary refreshments in our relaxation room

You'd also have full use of the pool/steamrooms/saunas/rainshowers etc. The 2 times I've been the pool area has been lovely and quiet with only a small handful of people in or around the pool and seems to be relatively kiddie free - plenty of room to lounge on the sun loungers in the pool area or jacuzzi having chats without kids screaming or dive-bombing. All you need is your swimsuit, and cap, robes and slippers provided.

If you scroll down on the Spa page you will see the link for the pdf for offers.
You could also do the all inclusive break, but might be a bit pricey?

Or, there are plenty of inexpensive places to stay in the town instead of that hotel (which is about a mile out of town on the castlebar road) and you could go to the spa for the day then a nice restaraunt later that evening. Mangos Restaruant is gorgeous if you like seafood, and JJ O'Malleys is a good one for variety of choice. There is a good italian restaruant on high street too (but have not personally been there)

Wow, that's a great deal! Wonder how long it'll last... I'm planning early as having ppl fly over for hen and they'd need to book flights.

Well, its been running a while now, so it could be an ongoing thing. We went in mid march, and had it booked a few weeks before. Surely the business a group would give to the salon would be worth giving you a little extension on the deal. I'd ring them and ask. they were really flexible about drop-outs too, and we paid on the day so there was no cash outlay.

It is a great deal, isnt it? I got mine modified as some treatments were too vigarous for preggers ladies, and they were happy to offer me alternatives. It was sooo relaxing.

We got a hot chocolate in the relaxation room that overlooks the pool area with cushions and blankies and soft music and magazines on wicker loungers. We were the only ones in there despite it being a saturday and had a lovely auld natter. :)

Johnstown House in Enfield is lovely.
They have small houses there too if you would prefer to the hotel.
They are going to have a special offer on pigsback tomorrow according to Facebook.

Hi check out Ballygarry Hotel in Tralee. I've been there a few times now with the girls and with hubby, and can't find fault with the place. Spa is fab fab..the thermal suite includes an outdoor hot tub and the treatments are devine.

They usually have a treatment of the month offer so check out the website. The last visit we got an offer of double room 2 BB and 1 dinner for 219 euro. Food is delicious in bar and restaurant but if your dead set on cocktails I'd check with them first as not sure if they do them! The spa is called Nadur Spa..I think it's won awards too.

I had a lovely weekend in Seafield a while back. It's in Gorey. We got a great package for the weekend. I noticed a couple of hen parties there when we were there, they weren't the plastic willy and l-plate bridge and seemed to be having a good time! Its got a lovely spa and nice restaurant.

Never thought of self-catering cottages! that sounds great and could still go to hotel for spa and the bar for drinks... I'll check with them if they could do a deal.
Some of those hotels look amazing but are a little bit far out. Won't discount them yet though, may get a great deal :)

Kilronan is lovely, but isn't it a bit remote for a hen.

Knockranny house's spa, has a buy one massage get one free offer at the minute.
