So, 5 of us going over on an IEC to Vancouver and looking to do a good bit of travelling, particularly in Aug down West Coast of America.

Seems you can buy 2nd hand cars for relatively cheap (>$1500) and think itd be a good thing to have for getting about.

Has anyone ever bought a car out there, how do you sort car insurance, vehicle registration? how expensive would it roughly be? was thinking of buying through car sales co. rather than craigslist etc to make it easier.

As we're under 25, renting a car out of the question. far too expensive.

    Cheers

you can get a car for cheap, but it will be the insurance that kills you. Under 25, travelling out of state, getting newly licensed etc.....i dont know where to begin quoting but id imagine somewhere over 2000
