    Hey everyone,

What is the best way to get to Carlow from Cork by public transport.

Train from Cork to Portlaoise but buses from there to Carlow are limited.

    Any ideas people?

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards - Will.

AFAIR you can get a bus from cork to kilkenny and from there you can get a bus?train to carlow.

Bear in mind either way via waterford or kilkenny aint cheap

Best way and probably quickest is by train via heuston or Kildare. Takes about 4.5 hours but costs about €44 one way. Bus to Waterford then cork will cost a lot less but take about the same time, http://194.106.151.94/jplan/bin/query.exe/en?seqnr=4&ident=eg.04084187.1335357280&OK#focus

Bus costs online are monthly return €36.10 student return €29.45 and midweek return or day return €29.92. Single is €21.38 and student single €18.05. Family return is €72.20 and ten journey is Not available.
