Bord Gais prepay credit lost?

    Hi,
    My mother has a prepay card for Bord Gais gas.

    She got a top up this evening on her card of 20 quid. Got home and placed the card in the meter, it read the card showed 20 quid, then said "Please Wait" and then returned to the message that she was running on Emergency credit.

    Took the card and back in again and she got a Read error-Error 35.
    Gave chip a wipe and put it in again and it said 0.00 was on the card!

    Not sure what happened, she tried ringing Bord Gais but it will be the morning before she can as they close at 8pm.

    Anyone ever come across this. Sounds like the card could be knackered but will she be able to get the money returned to a new card?
