    Hi guys.

In a nutshell for a college assignment in a longwinded kind of way i essentially need to print some stickers, or vinyls i think is the term.

I have to produce stickers the kind that you peel off a big sheet, then rub onto the windscreen and then peel back the large sheet and it reveals the image, kind of like a transfer. similar to the style in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2XjaGS6pi8

I have a couple of hundred euro to outlay on this, not much more. if anybody could recommend the cheapest way of doing this i would really appreciate it. materials needed, places to purchase them etc.

the stickers will be a max size of 150x150mm so nothing too elaborate.

    thanks for any help :)

Get a print firm to make them ? http://www.vuepoint.ie/print/stickers.asp

Thanks for the reply :) but the task is that i must design, create and produce them myself. So contracting them out isn't really an option.

    Hi There,
Often a large plotter is used to print large Vinyl stickers but for the size you need you would be better off investing in a standard colour laser and using Vinyl sheets that can go through a laser printer. This way you can use the colour laser for other things you may need to print i.e. standard A4 paper printing.
You can pick up the laser paper cheap enough on Ebay, some papers are listed as laser compatible, if not you can email seller and request info as most paper should be suitable.
The following Brother HL 4140 printer is on sale this month with a number of suppliers, also very cost effective printer to run

you mention above not buying a plotter however it is stickers that he wishes to make so are you suggesting he prints them on vinyl and just manually covers
    them with laminate?

also you didnt mention transfer paper surely for a car sticker transfer paper is required?

surely without transfer paper your shape would be limited and would have to be cut out exactly as oppose to a plotter cutter cutting out the image for you?

If you have designed them and have them at a stage where they can be printed, then using a commercial printer to print them is just hiring a printer.
