Just a bit over 3 weeks and Im gone... looking out at the hailstones it cant come fast enough. Golf clubs drying from yesterdays soaking, awaiting Thursdays soaking.
Booked 4 clubs for a 5 day golf trip. Staying near Fuengirola
    Day 1. La Cala North
    Day 2. Santana
    Day 3. La Cala South
    Day 4. Rio Real
Day 5. Volvo Masters Matchplay La Finca Cortesin ( watching !! )

Works out at a fiver over € 300 for the 4 rounds including a buggy each day p.p. . Considerably cheaper than Villamoura for what we hope are decent enough courses.

I got this done at La Cala a few years ago.

You end up with a 3D dvd, viewable from all angles, top and bottom. Inspired me to totally rebuild my swing, I had no idea it was that ugly before I got this done.

    Looks awesome curly.!

I got a question regarding green fees abroad. Heading to Albufeira in June with view to playing some of the Oceanico courses. Green fee package for 3 rounds is just over 300e. What I was wondering is would we be better booking before we head out or waiting until we got there and see what deals can be got..?

    Sorry about the hi-jack curly.

Santana is superb, it's flat, it's fun. Front 9 is better.

Can't help you with Rio Real, but La Cala is quite good. I played the Asia and Europa tracks (no idea what north and south are), and both were interesting. Neither is overly long, but the undulations and sheet lack of bail out area make for a nice test.

    Enjoy.

Played all 4 and all nice.

La Cala's hilly but kept well. We got buggy's there which each had GPS attached, which was a nice touch.

Santana as stated is flat but kept well too.

Rio Real was my favourite, Felt like it was the most mature course.
Think its the one with the bar at the 10th too if I remember correctly. Either way there are buggy's going around most of them with beers and grub so lap it up..:D

Edit: Actually think the one with the bar at 10 is Santa Clara (good course too), either way they all enjoyable

South is Europa, East is Asia and North is America. They renamed them about 6 years ago.

Oceanico pretty much set their prices, they don't vary much between the agents or booking them there.

Campo America is La Cala North and Campo Asia is La Cala South or more correctly they were formerly the North and South.

Something like 14 of the 18 greens on America are raised. Fairway markers are to the front of the greens (except on par 3's the distance is to the centre). Make sure to check the pin positions of the day at the starters hut and use the card to adjust distances. You'll have to do this as they no longer have GPS units mounted on the carts.

Asia can break your heart. And if it does it will really break your heart. Best advice I can give is to not necessarily use driver on every hole and try to pick your landing spot carefully - look at where the ball might run to and pick your spot accordingly.

Edit: try not to play any blind shots without taking a look at the lie of the land - particularly thinking of some of the holes on America here.

On any of the courses down there, do not leave any valuables in the cart or in your golf bag on the cart - people hide in the bushes and rob valuables. As an aside to this - always try to park the cart where you can see it especially when on a tee or green.

Other than that - enjoy it - you lucky so and so.

Spent 12 nights in La Cala last summer. Great place, well worth a visit. Some great courses. I played Europa three times and Asia twice. I scored my best ever score of 43 points on Europa so it's my favourite! Asia is very narrow and you do not need driver all the time, a 3 wood or 5 wood off tee would do nicely on some holes.

Just a review now that Im home to the rain. All courses were fairly quiet. All in good condition
La Cala Asia ( South ) was our first course. No GPS in buggy as mentioned by another poster. It was our least favourite course. Tight with a good few blind shots , hilly , tough to find a flat lie. It was in good condition good for the price €59 inc buggy. Cancelled our booking in the North course as it had nt gone through the credit card.

Rio Real we really enjoyed , mature , flat, good thinking course as a dry river bed runs through the course. Nice bar / eating area. €83 inc buggy.

Santa Clara we picked up on the back of the La Cala cancellation. Very nice. Great variety of holes. Worth €80 inc buggy.

Santana prob the favourite course great condition very enjoyable ( I won that day !! ) No shortage of bunkers. €81 in buggy.

Went to the Volvo matchplay in Finca Cortesin yesterday. Holes looked amazing, I d like to have a go off it . Event was well organised great to get up close to the players.

    Roll on 2013.
