I would recommend eclipse and pec pads for cleaning lenses, sensors or optics. Isoproply (99%) is also good for cleaning but the purer the better.

I second this. These should be in the camera bag as an essential item.
The items I mentioned are what you would want when you have space to clean properly but in the field the lens pens are good for light dirt and smudges.

i recently noticed a couple of small spots of fungus inside my OM zuiko 50mm f1.4. not very user serviceable, unfortunately.

Id be happy to take a look for you. The quicker you get fungus out the better as it can etch into the coating on the lens if not taken care of.

UV light kills fungus also so give it a blast of sunlight for a few hours or even better from a UV steriliser to help slow/kill the growth before getting it cleaned.

I use UV filter to prevent any pollution of my lenses. And UV filters are cleaned with microfibre cloth.

Hmmm if the weather is anything like here then yeah you might have a problem doing that :s

If/when the fungus is killed it needs to be cleaned off and it loves dark places so it's probably in the barrel or somewheee the sun can't get anyway.
    Has it been there long?
