Hi , Ive a 03 Toyota Yaris. Im looking to play music through the audio system. It has cd player, pictured above. ( Car itself RHD )

FM transmitter not an option - quality too low.

Thinking of adding an AUX cable. Perhaps a splitter between the speakers and the system ?

    Looking for ideas/solutions.

    Cheers,

    Das Booty.

Don't rule out all transmitters, the likes of an iTrip transmitting to your roof aerial won't be good, but the likes of a dension ice link fm transmitter hard wired into your cars aerial socket will give very good results.

Toyota also do a ipod interface that plugs into the cd changer socket. These units can be got from other companies too.

You could also change your headunit for a generic one but its not the neatest looking solution.

full ipod and aux connectivity , best option really and its plug & play, no destructive wiring

Don't think thatd work as the signal will need to amplified and the hu probably has a pre amp. You could buy an amp but it would be cheaper to get the CD changer module

Slot below your current stereo fits a standard stereo.

I replaced mine a few months ago after the original stereo went kaput. Sound quality has much improved even with the original speakers.

Fitting guide here: here. Very easy to DIY.

pretty easy to do and replacemnet panels are available on amazon.

    Thanks for the replies.

The Denison Ice FM transmitter looks promising, I wasn't aware of that hard wired option. http://www.dension.com/product/ipod-car-adapter/ipod-iphone-auxin-fm/icelink-one

The x car link looks great too.

I dont fancy taking apart the head unit so it'll be something similar to either of the above.

They are both above the budget at the moment, however.

    Cheers

You need wiring worth about 20euro and you'd pick up a cheap sony with aux for about 60-70 euro.

Put said radio in the gap and you're done!

    No room :P

They look fine in that gap, i've seen loads done like it.

Also, you can order a fascia for about 30 quid.

I like the gap, the phone/wallet combo goes in there.

Plus a whole separate unit seems overkill.

A neat wire popping out the glove box into the mp3 player for as few bills as possible.
    Am I dreaming?
