    Hello

Recently installed DTT box, scanned channels and all Irish Channels came in but no BBC - ITV or C4

Connected to old aerial on roof, it can pick up UTV etc in analogue. Any help please?

    Thanks

You're more than likely receiving your UK analogue channels from the Kilkeel transmitter in Co. Down.

It won't broadcast any Freeview (digital) until October 10th.

Yes 99% of the houses in the town get their signal from the relay in Kilkeel so you wont get any digital signal from there till after ASO

Remember that Kilkeel after DSO will be 'Freeview Lite' i.e. limited no. of channels so with extra power from Divis it might be worth trying to get the full service from there. Also is Freeview from Wales not possible in Skerries?

Isn't kilkeel unfortunately not going to have enough power on so to mirror its analogue overspill.
There might be more luck with Divis at dso in skerries as unconventional as that seems given mullaghanish reaches parts of the arran islands.
Llandonna or arfon or one of the isle of man tx's might work either though I doubt it.

Kilkeel analogue ERP is 500W, post-DSO ERP is set to be 400W, so considerably more than the usual 20% of analogue power.

Indeed. And Divis does have the mourne mountains in the way between it and Skerries. Also I've seen no aerials for Wales in Skerries though I've never heard of anyone try for there. Most people preferred the NI channels for more local news or whatnot, I live in a hilly area and any places which had an equally good northerly view and southeasterly view would pick Divis or Kilkeel every time. I imagine that won't change after DSO especially with Kilkeel broadcasting on an almost clear set of frequencies.

The only thing is that weather variability will cause disruption to reception every so often. It happens with Arfon in Co. Wicklow already. And Preseli might interfere Kilkeel during good weather if its signal travelled far enough. I've picked up Blaenplywf before on several occasions, Preseli could interfere in similar conditions.
