Hi, as the title suggests, can someone explain a little bit about the cost of installing a basis monitoring system in retro-fit scenario. presume semi-d up-dating to 3 zone heating control (for grant), and solar panels.

this is really for the occupant to be able to assess the savings/ wastage by downloading and analysing the data of gas heating usage , solar thermal temp, house temp fluctuations, and electricity usage.

Is this a straight forward set of data loggers with central data collector or are we talking big bucks?

    thanks for yer help

There are energy contractors out there, check 'the golden pages'. They have the costs available for your individual project.

The cheapest method of meassuring costs for such an exercise is to check the real costs, the contents of the wallet. And compare these with the promises of the architect, builder, BERater. And with the promises of the toy sellers ("have fun...and plenty of hot water!").

Only certified data loggers installed, sealed and protocolled by an ISO acredited body will stand a court case.
