Source for varifocal glasses?

I need a pair of varifocal shades and would appreciate a recommendation on a source. I did some searching here and found a link to Optilabs from Beasty going back a few years. However, at well over 200 sterling I don't fancy taking my chances with an online purchase for fit etc.
Is there anyplace in Dublin or wherever where I could get them and try fit etc?
Any other ideas appreciated (I have a recent prescription)

I'm sure that I saw a reference to a supplier in the Irish Times magazine of the week before last, meant to look it up as I'm in the same boat.
    I came across the following, it seems to be for a similar product;
    http://www.bikerumor.com/2012/02/09/dual-eyewear-offers-first-bifocal-cycling-sunglasses/

The supplier, Dual Eyewear, supplies for approx $50, so with postage it should work out at about Eur 60.-

Have you tried your local opticians? They may not have the frames you want in stock, but could probably get a selection in for you

Also, are you sure you need varifocals for the bike - I manage quite comfortably with single vision lenses - it's not as if the (Garmin) computer screen is particularly small or close and I can see it quite easily for example

Thanks Al Wright - that looks like a more realistic option.
Yes Beasty, I do need some magnification a this stage really to see the computer and definately the phone, but I could work fine without the 'distance'. I tried my opticians which is specsavers. They didn't seem to have a solution or weren't interested.

I bought a par of glasses from chainreaction and got Visionexpress to make up the lenses to fit. The pair I got cost about €45 and €55 for the lenses

Another option might be Vistanas, maybe not the most trendy but I'm finding the pair I bought comfortable and practical and good at keeping out bugs and the wind on the bike.

I'm not sure if there is a supplier in Ireland but they are available from the Sunglasses Shop or their Amazon store

I'm pretty sure my local opticians, O'Sullivans in Clare Hall, do prescripton Oakleys

How does this work? Do they make now lenses or adapt the original ones. Secondly, does it cost the same again to get amber or clear lenses for dull weather?

Anyone know if Vision Express (or whoever) do prescription lenses for Oakley Jawbones?

I got contacts for the first time today and so far not impressed - reading with them is far worse than with glasses.

Just an update on this for anyone that is interested.

I got a set from Dual Eyewear as recommended above (thanks!).

These have a little magnified spot at the bottom for reading (computer, phone, etc) but there is no adjustment for distance

The cost of glasses plus additional clear and amber lenses, and insured postage, was 130 Euros. Just plain glasses without tracked postage is a good bit cheaper.

They are exactly what I wanted and am very happy with them. The fit is good etc.

The only downsides are that the amber lenses are slightly darker than I expected and there is no hard case with them (spare one anyone - I used to have a good BBB one with pouches for the lenses but its gone)

I was looking at this review http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/accessories/eyewear/sunglasses/product/review-oakley-flak-jacket-xlj-prescription-glasses-12-45901

and came across this site... http://www.extreme-eyewear.co.uk/ which also do other cheaper cycling glasses with prescription lenses.

(Disclaimer: I'm not involved with any of these companies in any way)
