None really as long as it stays commercial except DOE it as normal and when you tax it tell them its private.

so i can tax it and insure it as private and doe it instead of nct ?. the only reason that i am transfering the tax and insurance to private is that on a very rare ocassion i may have a kid strapped in the rear seats when i get them fitted, am i being too careful - civic minded. i can tax it commercial as i have a commercial number,

If you are getting rear seats fitted you will have to pay VRT on the Jeep as previously it would have been €50. In addition it's unlikely any insurance company will cover you as the original seat belt mounts should have been welded over.

If it is a used Irish reg. conversion VRT will already have been paid.

Dont pay money to have the seats fitted do it yourself. Its only bolts nothing special.

VRT may be liable though if you want to be above board!
