Hi just wanted to share my blog: http://6monthsmile.wordpress.com/
I am 3 months into the 6 month smile and thought some of you may be interested in information on the 6 month smile braces and to see someone's experience with them, I haven't been able to find many personal experiences so I said i'd write a blog myself, thanks!

"the 6 month smile braces and the progress is fantastic. I highly highly recommend these braces"

I'm puzzled braceface22, as these brackets and wires are the same as all other brackets and wires , I assume you mean you would recommend just putting a brace on for 6 months and accepting a compromised result?

Why do you say compromised? I certainly don't think so, as someone who had standard braces for 5 years and got fed up of them, I'm delighted with the speed of these braces and my bite has never looked so good.

6 Month braces are also called limited objective orthodontics. It is inherent that the braces are fixing only the front teeth and generally the result is not the optimal result especially in terms of long term stability hence the bonded retainers at the end. They work great for some people and are a good treatment modality but they are just ordinary braces that are left on for short periods of time. However they take one 6th the time but cost virtually the same, this is mostly due to having a laboratory do the treatment planning for the dentist, the dentist is little more than a parts fitter with this system.

Your results look good to me, just be careful of relapse. All the best.

Yes, but you have standard braces again, so there's no difference except the end result that you're going to accept

Thanks, but actually mine are costing me 2800 for both arches and there are brackets on every tooth except for the one tooth at the very back, top and bottom on either side, so it's a lot cheaper than regular braces, a lot faster and I'm getting the result I want. I understand from an orthodontic point of view it might not fix every problem, but it's fixing a lot and I'm delighted. I'll be getting a fixed retainer and a removable retainer.

Fitzgeme, one of the problems with the quick fix is that the opportunity for a bonded retainer isn't always there due to the compromise

No "braceface22", as mentioned they are regular braces and are no quicker, and certainly not cheaper.... Add to this the cost of your veneer as mentioned in your original post

Why the fixation on speed? Everyone knows that if you go too fast you crash, and so-called six months ortho is such a con. Hello overjet, bye bye any semblance of incisor guidance. It's rogue dentistry. Metal brackets on metal wire work way faster, way better, way more accurate, especially with passive self ligation..heck, I can do this six month stuff in three or even less with Damon or Smartclip!
