    Quick question:
im on jsb at the mo, due to run out shortly, hubby earns gross 500approx his hrs vary so thats an approx at the mo as he is in a new job, would i qualify for jsa? i know they send out forms to be filled out shortly as im coming to an end on the jsb, or do i go ahead with FIS, if so how much with 2 kids would i roughly be entitled to if i was approved? ive been advised FIS is my better option as i prob wont qualify for jsa? not sure why or the person that told me was correct...

    any help appreicated..

Are you also working if that is the case then your means from employment as well as hubbys will be assessed for jsa.

Below is a link to FIS

rough calc for you for jsa you would get €108 approx... assuming you dont have capital >€20,000 or a property other than your home. Will try and work out fis for you but would not be up to date with it... You hubby would have to apply for FIS and the waiting period is approx 4-5 months from other posts on here.

Ok very very rough calc for FIS assuming hubbys earnings are €500 gross I have deducted €70 for tax, prsi, usc etc.... I get a very rough figure of €103.20. Check out the following link for FIS and you can do the calcs yourself http://www.welfare.ie/EN/Publications/SW22/Pages/6Whatareassessableearnings.aspx
