I am a single mum that has just been offered a new job after 3 years unemployed! I am currently on opf payment. My new wage is just under 25k before tax. Can anybody tell me what if anything I will be entitled to now, I know I will lose my rent allowance and probably my opf but will I qualify for any other assistance? Also as I get paid monthly, do I get to keep my payment up until my first pay check? I hope to visit the sw office and cwo once I get my contracts. All help greatly appreciated x

If I were you I'd waiting until you have two weeks work done before you go to Social Welfare, especially if you are going to be paid monthly. You will surely qualify for a reduced opf payment and medical card though I know nothing about rent allowance etc. Well done you, work is great for the head. Best of luck
