UPC box not working

    Hi all,

Last Thursday, our UPC box stopped working. It would turn on and you could change the channel etc on the box but there was no display on the tv.

I got to look at it on Friday and made sure that there was no issue with the scart port on the tv or the scart lead that was connecting the box to the tv. This has led to me believing that whatever transmits the video signal (equivalent of a video card in a pc) has stopped working.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? What would be the best way to get this repaired? Will I have to get UPC out to do it and endure their legendary customer service?

    Thanks,
    nkay.

Did you check that the card is pushed in properly. As you have checked the cables, then it looks like you will have to contact them. Last time I had to contact them, they were able to sort it out over the phone.

Same thing happens mine every now and again (or where you can see the channels but nothing will play from the dvr). I was never plugging out the box and I think this was the issue. Unplug your box for a few minutes and try it again. I put a timer on my plug now to switch off at night and I have not seen the problem since (maybe a coincidence).

Thanks for the advice but I did indeed disconnect the power for a couple of minutes. I'll give it another try though, just in case!
