It will depend on what type of music you're into. I use Boomkat and Bleep. Both have a wide range, but they don't deal in overtly commercial dance music, meaning no Trance, etc. They're specialist music stores, and have built-in quality control, so although you'll find plenty of music you wont like, you wont find much rubbish.

But in terms of just straight-up dance music, Beatport is probably the best, in so far as it's a good one-stop-shop. They also have exclusive rights to some cool labels, particularly some of the US house stuff.

One thing though, if you're gonna stick with Beatport, make good use of your 'favourites' list. Don't add every label and artist you buy from, but over time add those artists and labels that are consistently good. Very soon you'll have a Beatport-within-Beatport, featuring only your sound & your style.

It can be a little expensive. Most stores give you a discount if you buy an entire album/release. iTunes don't.

It's fine if you know what you're looking for, but it's crap for browsing. You can't search by record label, which is a mortal sin as far I'm concerned.

iTunes music is 256kbps AAC, while Beatport is 320kbps mp3. There's some debate about whether iTunes music is suitable for DJing, and the general consensus seems to be that it isn't. But from what I've read AAC is better (meaning less compressed) than mp3.

Beatport, Decks.de, Soundcloud. Really depends on your music.

I find Soundcloud great for free legal downloads. A lot of small producers/individuals putting up stuff for maybe 100 free downloads, creating a bit of a buzz and then maybe a record label picking it up for a proper release. I'd say I've gotten 20-30 quality tunes off Soundcloud this year for free. Also great for bootleg/white label type tunes, stuff that never has a hope of being commercially released because of copyright infringements.

As ThirdMan says keep your favourite/following list's up to date and edit often or else you'll be swamped with stuff you may not be in to.
