I'm struggling to think of any jobs that contractors are charging less than 35 an hour for now - diesel and machinery are very expensive now

I would say 40 for rotavating is about the going rate - not many using rotavators now though is there?

well how many hours work is there? look at it this way if there was only two hours work, the farmer would be getting €80 for which he would have to get a tractor put the rotovator on it, travel to your place, do the work, and travel home and take it off again. thats another hour getting prepared for it. if he had 10 hours of it on the other hand then he could reduce his price a fraction. also depends what size he has as 60 inch would be small but 90 inch would be alright etc.

big question- how many hours will it take him?
