Lookin forward to this one, still haven't made up my mind if I'm gona do the 100 or 160km. Would of definitely tried the 160 two weeks ago but after an eye opening struggle in the tour de foothills I'm not so sure, have done the "cut" a few times but It will be my first time to tackle the " wolf trap" if I do the big one. Decisions decisions!

I'm a bit surprised to hear CI licence required thought a one day licence would be available on the day like most other sportives.

    I found this,

    http://ridewithgps.com/trips/218594

I'm presuming that it's still the same, was hoping to make the 100km my self but that's not looking likely now.

That's mine from last year: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/82835445

It's a really nice route apart from a stretch of road after Portlaoise. That empty N80 was a bit depressing to cycle at times.

Also.. can you please put signs in Portlaoise with the way we are supposed to go? I got lost last year :D (which you can cleary see in the map above lol) Looking forward on doing this again.

Word of warning to organisers. I noticed write up on local paper Leinster Express
that there is a vintage tractor run starting in Clonaslee on Sunday morning
at 10.30 heading into the Sliabh Bloom, cant find the exact route that are taking or if they are heading up or coming down the cut road 100 tractors
took part in this last year. The Cut is hard enough without having to worry about tractors.
Also the first 2km of the cut climb the road is in bits badly broke up on both sides just be
    careful

Great day out, with a nice steady pace on the way to the tea stop. There was more than enough food and drink for all, a nice friendly atmosphere and groups stuck together very well.
Thanks to all involved, and definitely hoping to see you again next year.

Will definitely be back next year, I only tackled the 100 km(I know my limit), lovely corned beef sambo at food stop and lovely coffee and salad sambos at the finish , very friendly volunteers at both and fair play to the motorcyclist who managed great on his own, nice route and well organised for a worthy cause. Hope the 160 went well.

Really enjoyed this event today. Only did the 100k as I did the Orwell 140k yesterday and I know my limits.Thank you Eoghan from Swords and John G from Carlow CC for leading the group from the food stop back to Carlow. The paramedic on the bike was great as he only got the bike yesterday, so too were all the friendly ladies at the food stop and finish. Definitely one to do again and for such a worthy cause.
