    Hi,

Can anyone tell me if B+Q own brand internal white
    emulsion is any good?

My newly built house is almost ready and I want to
get something to give the whole house a couple of
    coats.

Thinking white so I can do walls and ceilings fairly
    fast.

Will hopefully be using a compressor driven spray gun.

BnQs own brand is not good, its too inconsistant.

If you had have been a week earlier then BnQ were doing 3 for 2 on All Dulux Weathershield Magnolia and White.

The tubs were also with 20% extra free.
So you would have got 36 litres for the price of 24.That deal ended last weekend though.

They were then very recently selling Dulux Weathershield (20% extra free) for 40 euro per tub.
Dont know if that deal ended this weekend though?

Have found their own brand stuff rubbish. Only good as a base coat to be painted over by a branded paint

How long since the house was plastered?

Isnt fresh external plaster/render supposed to be left to settle/cure for around 6 months before painting??

    I read that somewhere before.

House has been plastered for about a month
    at this stage.

Only looking at internal walls at the moment.

You will get large 20 litre "trade" tubs/drums of white or magnolia paint in Fleetwood Trade,Johnstown Paints or Crown Trade for a good price.

These paints are far superior to BnQ own brand.

Your 1st coat will be your primer coat and this will be diluted paint.Diluted down 20% with some water. This will prime the bare plaster walls and ceilings. Then 2 good full undiluted coats of paint to finish.

I used Fleetwood and Crown when my house was being painted internaly by my girlfriend.:)

Oh and Dulux Weathershield for the exterior.

Ok, so looks like B+Q own brand is out then.

Have also been recommended to get colour trend
    primer sealer.

    Appreciate the replies.
