gaa club withdrawing team(cork)

    the gaa club which im playing with is rumoured to be withdrawing from all competitions due to lack of numbers and i am wondering is it possible to transfer to another team if this were to happen?
    any advice on this boards?

    I would be very surprised if you had any problem in transferring to another club if that was the case. Sad to hear it though.

    From the official guide
    A resolution to wind up a Club shall be passed only at a General meeting, specially summoned for the purpose of such resolution, if supported by not less than three-fourths
    of those present and entitled to vote.

    Pg 58 onwards deals with transfers http://www.gaa.ie/content/documents/publications/official_guides/Official_Guide_2011_Part_1.pdf There are a couple of competition rules that you need to look at - but there should be no problem transferring from one club to another.

    Do you mind me asking whereabouts the club is based?? Sad to hear any club winding up

    I'd be very interested to know aswell. I haven't heard anything on the grapevine and haven't seen that many w/o listed on the results section of the examiner on Mondays.
    Very sad if it happens.
