I need to get my bike serviced as the gears are slipping and there is a rattle from it, where in Dublin is good to do that? I'm in the Dublin 8 area.

Also, are there any places which give you an overview of what you should be doing for regular / general maintenance?

Holyboy did a fabulous job on my bike. Highly recommend the service (both on the bike and from holyboy himself). The previous time I brought it for a service I brought it to one on the big bike shops and they did a brutal job. Never again.

Agree -there seems to be some brutal bike shops out there who cannot service a bike. Recently had the worst service in 20 years when a shop also known for selling baby stuff in the Airside retail park used brake cables for gear cables. This after putting a right pedal on the left crank and telling me the crank was wrong. I had to bring it elsewhere to sort out .This is truely basic stuff but it seems the cycle to work scheme is all these people care or know about . A good bike repair shop is worth its weight in gold.

    Jesus

I can also recommend P and Q (or is it P & K) cycles in Christchurch, or another big store on Manor Street, Cycleways maybe
