After Race Etiquette

Just wondering what other peoples views are in relation to something that bugs me. At yesterdays BHAA race at the K Club the changing facilities provided were first class. Granted at other venues they might not be quite as good but at BHAA races they are available. Why then do people not avail of the facilities and take a shower before going to take advantage of the after race refreshments. I find it quite off putting and it cant be very hygenic to have people stinking of bo and with sweat dripping off them in an area where food is being served. I seldom stay long if at all after having a shower as a result of this. Are people so scared of missing out on a free ham sandwich that they are prepared to forget about personal hygiene and consideration of others.

Fresh sweat does not smell so anyone that stinks after a race is probably stink all the time.....
I personally never use facilites after a race, boot shower via baby wipes, alot of places aren't as clean as i would like plus the cleanliness of others using those facilites would be an issue for me...

Being horrible and sweaty is all part of the fun of running. Never been an issue with me anyway, mixing with other sweaty people after a race, food or no food.

A bit different if you're heading out somewhere afterwards maybe, but otherwise I think it's very precious to worry about it.

Stay away from refreshments after an IMRA race so. Not only do you have all the sweaty bodies crammed into what's usually a cosy pub, they're also covered in muck and bog and other sorts of country side.

600 people at a bhaa event 300 men 300 women how long would you have to wait to get a shower if you were last in? stop being so precious.

What about the public toilets, they can be tricky:
