Thailand in October

Thinking of heading to Thailand for 2 weeks in October with a few mates.

Just wondering what is Thailand like around that time?

Also is 2 weeks too short? Ideally I'd like 3 weeks but not sure can I get the time off work.

Any advice on flights would be great. I'd imagine I could get them cheap enough seen as October would be the most popular time to head to Thailand.

    Thanks in advance

If you plan on going to Phuket or some other Islands the weather may not be great that time of year.
Flights wont be cheap but you could check out Trailfinders or Tropical Sky for flight & or accommodation deals.

We're flying there in September. Flights with Emirates worked out cheapest for us when we bought the tickets. Heard of others getting KLM flights.
Bangkok seemed like the best serviced airport in SE from our part of the world here in Ireland. We're going Dublin-Dubai-Bangkok, and coming back in October.
Flights within Thailand are quite cheap, Air Asia and the like.

I usually look at the wiki site of the airport in question, check what airlines fly there and from what destinations and find cross-overs with airlines that service Irish airports.
Then check flights with all of them for the dates in question and get the cheapest!
e.g. big airlines that fly to London, CDG Paris, Frankfurt as well as Dublin/Shannon are likely to have flights with few connections all the way to the SE....

These are the sites I tried:
    Emirates
    Swiss Airways
    Air France
    Etihad Airways
    tripadvisor
    travelpack.com
    Kayak
    edreams.co.uk
    farecompare.com
    onetrave
    orbitz
    expedia.ie
    SAS
    KLM
    fly.co.uk
    Aer Lingus/China Airlines
    Delta
    British Airways

I'm also going to Thailand in October. Flying in and out of Bangkok but other than that I've no itinerary for my 2 week trip.
As Thailand is quite large I've heard rainy season can be a lot worst in certain regions. Has anyone any personal experience of Thailand during rainy season? And what parts you think me and my mates should maybe skip this time??

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
