Apologies if this isn't the correct forum for this, but does anybody know if there are any free sites for hosting PDFs, i.e. when I upload it and give someone a link, it opens up Adobe or whatever in their browser (or externally)? Any ones Ive found just host them on a small application on the page surrounded by advertising, the websites header etc.

    Many thanks!

There's probably a much better solution out there, but if you open a dropbox account (free, takes a few minutes) - you can put a pdf in your public folder, get a 'share' link and just link it to people! You can store up to 2GB in a dropbox folder with a free account, and it's handy to have one anyway!

Please see here for hosting reccomendations. No discussion of web hosts please.
I don't think theres many free hosts that would be ad free. Would using something like mediafire, rapidshare not suit? You could also try Slideshare

Google docs is another option, opens in browser without any surrounding distractions.

Dropbox is probably the simplest if it's only a few files ..
