Hi, Im looking for a bit of help? Whilst removing the intake manifold from my car i think a washer has dropped down one of the intake ports:(. I say i think because i didnt see it fall and it could have been missing from a previous owner. Ive borrowed a telescopic camera to see if i can see it in the port, but the camera wont go past the valve rod at the end of the port. Does any one know of a company/garage which specialise in this (retrieval of bits down engine ports)? I dont want to have to remove the head of the engine if at all possible. Any tips appreciated. have already tried to vacuum out port with no success.
    thanks

How big was the washer? Maybe if it was small and the intake valve opened it could be in the cylinder. Remove the spark plug and shine a light in.
Or maybe the washer was never there. Check on the ground and all around the engine.

    Thanks for tips.
Search over thank God, Found washer between engine body and starter despite a full day searching the car yesterday , it appears this morning in the first place I decide to have another look. What a relief. Washer was 18mm dia x 7.5mm thick(6.5mm of which is a rubber mounting to bottom of intake manifold). Had removed the glow plug but couldn't see much. Was going to try the magnet but decided to do one last check around the engine bay first. Lesson seriously learned.
Now to get her back together before the rain!

    Cheers:D
