leaking 2011 seat ibiza doors

I bought a brand new 3 door seat ibiza in september 2011.Any time a torrential downpor of rain occurs the seats in the front are wet. this problem first started within two weeks of me driving it off the forecourt. the car is currently back at the dealerships for the third time since september 2011 to carry out repairs. I am interested to know if anybody else is experiencing similar problems with the seat ibiza particular the 3 door. This may be a design fault which makes it a common problem or a maufacturing fault which may only affect a handful of people. I would be grateful if anyone has useful tips, similar stories or legal advice on how I should proceed.

Does it have a sunroof? Is there any sign of damage to the rubber around the doors?

I have exactly the same problem with the same car, mine is currently with Seat in the garage too... It was leaking all down the pillars and coming in through the door seals soaking the seats. I purchased mine in March 2012 however it could have been manufactured months before that. I have only had the car about 6 weeks and they have no idea why it was leaking or whether the new door seals will fix this issue. Plus the seals are on back order and they have been storing it outside. Not happy!! Would be good to know how you get on!!

it was a common problem on the mk1 leon/mk2 toledo but it only happened after a few years not months.

the seals on the panel inside the door, the one where the electric window motor etc are mounted, perished after time and water would leak in to the footwells after a heavy shower of rain or after washing the car. two tubes of silicone sealed the 4 door on my leon. lots of other people had sucess with this too.

by the sounds of your problems its more than this as the seats never got wet due to this, only the carpets in the footwell...

try contacting sere motors in belfast for the seals if seat ireland are dragging there feet. ask for david in parts and he should be able to sort you out.

    Hi, thanks for your reply.
The problem with my seat ibiza happened in the first two weeks of me owning it. I have been in touch with seat directly, the consumer agency and the citizens information bureau. If you financed the car. Get in touch with the finance company they own the car untill you have made the final payment and they are interested to know what the dealer is doing for you. My car is back with the dealer for the 5th time. this time a technician from seat is looking at the car. All my rubber seals have been checked on numerous occasions the inner roof panels have been dismanteled. They have checked the alignment of the doors. After all this they still dont' know what is wrong.
I have refused to take the car back after numerous repairs I am seeking a replacment car or a refund. I reckon you should push for the same.

Hi, I have a 3 door seat ibiza also.My car leaks similar to yours every time there is a torrential downpour of rain. After numerous repairs the car continued to leak. I was wondering has your car been fixed. If at all possible could you send me a message to let me know what was wrong with your car and how they fixed it. Regards.

I'd be inclined to send a pm to that user, as they only have one post they probably haven't been waiting for you to reply

Mightn't be any harm signing up to a SEAT forum and see if any other Ibiza drivers have had the same problem and if it was resolved
