The Lyrid meteors will be visible over the coming week, getting stronger and stronger until they reach their peak on the night of Saturday, April 21st, and Sunday, April 22nd. Up to 20 meteors can be expected to seen at the peak, but occassionally the Lyrid Meteor Shower can experience an outburst with hundreds visible each hour! Can you see anything tonight?

I saw 4 earlier, in the space of about 20-25 mins observing. A good night for it generally, being as it is moonless. Anyone else?

Was just out there for half an hour seen around 20 - 30 meteors, 3 or 4 very bright one's the rest not so bright. I managed to capture a few of the feint one's but none of the bright one's too hard to predict where they are going to be seen :p

Smashing stuff. As you can appreciate, trying to experiment and get it right is more than a bit difficult with infrequent and hard to catch things like shooting stars.

    Cheers
