    Hi,
I havent had my wedding there or been to one there but I was there a couple of months back and the service was awful. The hotel is lovely but the service in the restaurant turned me off. We waited a half our to be seated even though we had a booking, starter was cold, there was no spoon for the soup asked 3 times before they brought one, they left us sitting beside 2 dirty tables for the length of time we in there. They forgot the bread, then the potatoes... just awful. The restaurant wasnt even busy and there was only 2 of us. I wouldnt like to see them cater for 100+ guests at one time!

    Hi,

A friend's husband stayed there a few months ago whilst she was in labour in Sligo General, he got food poisoning from a steak sandwich (not that easy to get poisoning from red meat....) and had to support his wife through labour with all that severe food poisoning entails.

My own experience is from a few years ago, I stayed there one night and found childrens' socks behind the bathroom door and some underwear on the radiator, neither item were mine!! To add insult to injury, the duty manager gave me the impression that he thought we had planted them to get the room for free, we didn't and nor were we offered a refund.

Physically the building is lovely and the small little church on site too but the management appears to be haphazard.

I attended a hen do at the clarion over the summer. The hotel itself is fabulous, the deal was good but the staff were awful. They were rude and very unhelpful! I have never seen the likes truely shocked me! The food was good in the restaurant and bar. Unfortunately, due to my recent stay I ruled it out as a contender for my wedding venue.

Was at a numbers of weddings in the Clarion and a awards night recently. The food was not great and the waiting time between courses was a joke Staff lovely but at 2 of the weddings the hotel cocked up and forgot to put people on the table plan, so they had to stand around waiting until a table was found for them which at one wedding was after the bride and groom had come in.
