SGS2 - some issues - Is rooting the only solution

    Hi all
I've had my SGS2 for 6 months or so now and have a few issues.
    - The vlingo voice control regularly comes on and asks " what would you like to do" when I press the home button. I have tried everything to get rid of it but can't.
    - It is a bit laggy - sometimes it is a bit slow to react when I am using it or moving around the screens

    These are the main problems

Is rooting my only option to fix these, and if so then where is the best (ie) easiest and most straightforward guide to do this? I have had a look at the xda developers side as well as a few threads here but it is all very confusing. I really need a simple step by step guide

    Cheers

Nothing to do with rooting, normal sgs2 should not behave like this. Reset to factory default, if problems persist then seek replacement.

Cheers - yeah a perfectly working phone shouldnt have these issues however I have read in a few places that rooting allows you to switch off the vlingo completely, as well as enhancing performance of the phone in general.

I know vlingo comes on when you double click the home button, maybe you have it set to one click

Dont think so as it only happens some of the time. Some people seem to have the problem if there is a little bit of dust stuck underneath the home button which makes it think you are double clicking when you arent
