New aerial and Nordmende box, RTE channels grand, most UK freeview channels freezing?

Hi there,

Just reading through all the threads at the moment and think I have an answer, but hoping someone could confirm for me?

We've just had a new aerial installed (last one is over 25years old and in the loft) so we now have a new aerial outside on the chimney and pointing to the Limavady transmitter (we'd previously been pointing to Strabane and got all the analogue channels with no problems, both RTE/TV3 and uk ones)

All RTE channels are grand (I'm liking this Nordmende box - has a USB recording capability which seems pretty nifty) and I get BBC4 ok (I'd mentioned I really wanted this channel - I love my crime drama subtitled!) but most of the other uk freeview channels freeze or I get "no signal" message.

My installer told me that the Limavady transmitter is not on full power and will be boosted in a couple of months, at which time all uk freeview channels will all work grand at that time on the box.

I've been reading here that the NI transmitters are due to be upgraded, so will this be the case? I just need to wait a couple of months?

I'm nearish Ballybofey, Donegal.

The NI transmitters will have all Freeview channels on full power after October 24th, the same date as switchover in the south. More like 6 months to wait.

NI transmitters go full power on Oct 24th, Oct 10th for the BBC channels - http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/when_do_i_switch/northernireland.
