    hi all,

might be going to buy one of these 2006 astras with 100k kilometers on the clock in the next few days expected buying price 5500ish.

what were the weak points in them and whats the reliabilty like ?

haven't driven the car yet so not sure what to expect, the 00-01 Astras weren't great neighbour had one and it had faulty electrics galore

I intend keeping it for a few years running it to 250k kilometeres, doing a mix of round town trips and motorway driving approx 15k kilometers per year.

I have an astra 05 model and it is a very reliable car, very good on long journeys 120 miles+ very solid car to drive, never had a problem with it from day one (one previous owner) if I am lucky enough in the near future to be able to upgrade I will get another astra for sure, you wont go wrong with the astra
hope this helps you and happy motoring

They are a reliable car, just keep an eye on the fluid levels as one thing they can suffer from is water leaks, which, if not noticed, can lead to overheating/HG failure.

Had a diesel one and it was just a nightmare of a car, everything you can think of went wrong with it.
