    Hey folks.

I just got the suspended wooden floor treated for woodworm in the sitting room and I went to the bother of taking the whole lot up for a all over job. I have the floor relaid now with screws but it just hit me about insulating it. If I can find netting (anyone point me in right direction?) ,get the membrane to lay over the insulation can I just re screw the floor back down then? I have 2 rolls here of Knauf loft roll 150mm left over from attic. I know rockwool would be better Knauf loftroll will do the same job wont it?

Brilliant thanks Bryan. Any idea where I can get the netting stuff or even if you know the proper name for it I can look for it online etc.

have you tried your local garden centre - the mesh is only to hold the insulation in place. if you had enough space in the sub-floor you could always get ply/ or even better wood fibre board tacked below the joists to do the same job..

I haven't yet but will be going to Roscrea tomorrow so will look then. Wood or anything similar is a no go as there is only about 6 inchs clearance underneat the joists. Once again I see the joists are not equal distances apart :(. I reckon my 2 rolls should do it. They will cover 6.87sq meters each and the total area is I think 13.95. Take a fireplace area out of that so the actual area is less.
