Laps around Richmond Park on a Sunday.

Pick up the TFL maps or any one of a dozen books for shorter fun spins.

Foyles Bookshop near Tottenham Court Road tube station has good stock.

As above - laps of Richmond park given your timeframe. Once the gates are shut for cars at dusk you can continue to go around on a bike, but watch as all the deer start to come out onto the roads. You don't want to spoke a herd of them.

Cycling in London isnt a great pleasure. Richmond park is ok but there's only so much you can take going round in a short loop, plus there is a speed limit. Depending on where you are based it can also take a good while to get there too.

It's particularly bad in wet weather as there seems to be an excessive number of manhole/utility covers and other slippery hazards. And London Transport bus drivers are a lot less sympathetic to cyclists than their Irish counterparts.

It's a great city to watch lads track standing at the lights though! :)
